It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Iris Lockwood (Lancaster, Pennsylvania), born in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 15, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her grandmother Joan; her parents, John L. Skipper and Frances Skipper (Bailer); her husband Stephen Lockwood; her daughter Stephanie Lockwood Holmes; and her sisters, Emma, Romaine and Aurora.
She is survived by: her son David Lockwood of Carlisle; her grandchildren, Charmaine Lockwood Anderson (Gregory Anderson) of Lancaster, Ayanna Lockwood of Reading, Stanisha Lockwood of Lancaster and David Felder of Lancaster; and her great grandchildren, Thomas Small "TJ" Jr. (Analicia) of Lancaster, Capricia Lockwood of Reading, Malik Lockwood of Reading, Kaleel Lockwood of Reading and Noriyanna Lockwood of Reading. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory (2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
Joan will be remembered not only for her immense contributions to music and art but also for her unwavering love, kindness, and impact on those fortunate enough to know her.
