She was predeceased by: her husband Walter E. Herr; and her parents, John Stoner and Mary Rutt Stoner. She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy J. (Dean Shenk) of Lancaster, Donna J. (Richard Mast) of Millersville, Brenda K. (Michael Coakley) of Lancaster, Lisa M. Godra of Paradise, Elaine K. (Bobby McCrimmon) of Palm Coast, FL and Linda J. Church of Conestoga; and her brother John (Martha Stoner) of Leola. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Violet's honor to the Mennonite Home Benevolent Fund, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.

“I was sorry to hear of your mother's passing. We have so many fond memories of overnighters at your house. Velma & I would pack our bags before we went to see you or Grandma Herr and then we would spring the question about staying overnight. Your Mom never said no. If our parents mentioned that we don't have our overnight bags, we would say we did! Your Mom was always loving to us and took really good care of us with her wonderful meals. So many good memories. Reunion in 2024?”
