He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia McCluskey Mehler; his parents, William A. Mehler and Helen Zerweck Mehler; his sister Helen Fleming; and his grandson Robert F. Huber.
He is survived by: his children, John R. (Deborah Mehler) of Easton, PA, Nancy Huber of Winston-Salem, NC and Robert B. Mehler of Paso Robles, CA; his granddaughters, Caroline (Joseph Antonio) of Atlanta, GA and Elizabeth Huber of Raleigh, NC; and his great grandchildren, Luke, Emily, Sally and Jake Antonio. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews.
He was one of the original board members of the Rock Ford Foundation and served on the first Board of Governors of the Lancaster Opera Company.
