Lester B. Bennett Obituary
Lester Bruce Bennett, 87, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Trenton on September 3, 1939, Lester graduated in 1957 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was stationed at Naval Air Station Quonset, Rhode Island.
Lester lived in Langhorne for 30 years, then moved to Taberg, NY for 20 years before settling at Spring Valley Village located in Bechtelsville, PA 8 years ago.
Before his love of motorcycles took center stage, Lester was actively involved in 4-H South Horse and Pony of Newtown and the Grange Fair. He owned many horses and especially enjoyed watching his children compete in various horse-related competitions.
In 1959, Lester married his wife, Mary Ann Plavchak. Together, they shared 67 years of marriage, building a life centered on family and creating countless memories over more than six decades.
Following his military service, Lester began a long and dedicated career with PSEG, where he worked for 30 years. Over the course of his career, he served as a Misc. Mechanic, Misc. Mechanic Supervisor and the Environmental Coordinator for Trenton Electric T&D. He later served as Environmental Coordinator for Central Electric T&D, the position he held until his retirement.
Lester had a lifelong love of motorcycles and was a member of several motorcycle groups, including Past president of the Retreads of Bucks County, and the Honda Gold Wing Association. He was also a member and Past President of the Chapter T. Gold Wing Club in New York. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, golfing, and snowmobiling. Whether riding his motorcycle, heading out to hunt, spending time on the golf course, or taking a snowmobile out in the winter, Lester enjoyed staying active and spending time outdoors. Faithful fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies as he was a catcher during his high school days. Lester was on the 1956 varsity team that went on to win the championship. In 2012, he was inducted into Ewing High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Following retirement, Lester and Mary Ann made their home in Taberg, New York, where he enjoyed life in his log cabin and the peacefulness of country living.
Lester is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary Ann; his children, Michael and his wife, Allison, Tracy and her husband, Craig, and Tricia and her partner John; his grandchildren, Melissa, Andrew, Walter, Kyle and his wife, Stephanie, and Shelby and her husband, Jack; and his great-grandchildren, Autumn, Jude, McKenna, and Olivia and many nieces and nephews and sister Audrey.
Preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Elizabeth Bennett and brother Douglas.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 12 Noon on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067.
His interment will follow, along with military honors, at 1:30 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940.
Friends may gather and pay their respects on October 1st from 11 AM to 12 Noon at the funeral chapel.
Lester will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
