He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Nelson and Nancy Nelson (Johnson). He is survived by: his wife Gina Nelson (Scavuzzo); his children, Shaylee and Kyler Nelson; his sister Karen Nelson; his parents-in-law, Ron and Kathy Scavuzzo; and his sisters-in-law, Dawn Schickling and Melanie Fagerlund (Bobby). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Mark's memory to Movember to support its mission of research on men's health issues including mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
