He is survived by: his parent Bernice Spruell (Sherrill); his wife Mary Ellen; his children, David Shanko (Orchida) of Phoenixville, PA, Ronald Shanko of San Francisco, CA, Theresa Logan and Linda Shanko; his grandson Joseph Spitzer; his nieces, Noelinda Cassell (Ed), Jeanan Davis (Mark), Savannah and Adeline; his nephew Alexander; and also Mary. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters.
