He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Alderfer (Manlove); and his parents, Allen Alderfer and Florence Alderfer (Smith). He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey M. Alderfer of Denver, NC and Tami A. Graf (Richard) of Hatfield; his grandchildren, Nicole Alderfer, Chad Lowe (Melanie) and Chelsea Finch (James); and his great grandchildren, Madelyn Finch, Henry Finch and Phoebe Lowe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Merrill's memory to Lansdale United Methodist Church, 300 N. Broad Street, Lansdale, PA 19446.
