We announce the death of Amanda L. Prew of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 30, 2026, at the age of 40. Amanda will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Amanda will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Amanda will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Amanda’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She is survived by: her father James E. Shawley; her husband John James Prew III; her daughters, Madison and Victoria L. Zepp; her brother David J. Shawley (Laurie) of Indiana; and her caregiver Belinda Bressler. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home (300 W 3rd Ave, Derry, PA 15627). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 7:30 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations are asked to be given to a family member.
