He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Samella and Mary Samella (Pishko); his wife Eleanor Samella (Porembka); and his siblings, Joseph, Frank, John Samella, Kathryn Mickolay and Helen Merichko.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Samella (Deirdre) of Seattle, WA, David Samella (Allison) of Carlisle and Carrie Johnson (Glen) of Stillwater, MN; his grandchildren, Rayce Johnson, Abby Samella, Hadley Johnson, Maggie Samella, Evan Samella, Violet Johnson and Jeremy Samella; his sister Mary Davis of Irwin; and his close friend Shirley Adamerovich (Latrobe). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
