He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Gerald, Alice Smith, Steve and Anna Lazur; his aunts, Geraldine Miller and Janet Davis; and his uncle Richard Lazur.

He is survived by: his parents, Girard V. "Sam" Smith and Eleanor A. Smith (Lazur) of Latrobe; his brothers, David P. Smith (Melissa) of Latrobe and Todd V. Smith (Jackie) of Georgia; and his siblings' children, Nick, Michaela, Samantha, Alexis and Nathan. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
