Peter Augustine Pierjok O.S.B. Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Peter Augustine Pierjok O. S. B. (Latrobe, Pennsylvania), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 25, 2025 at the age of 78. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Peter had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Peter may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

Viewing was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Roderick Hall. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Archabbey Basilica. A vigil service will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 7:15 PM. A major accomplishment during his five years in St. Marys, which included weathering the Covid-19 pandemic, was to lead four different stakeholders to reach an equitable solution and property settlement of the fifteen acre former Benedictine Sisters of Elk County Convent/Monastery, which adjoined the Saint Mary's Parish property.
