He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Allwine and William Pritchard Gharing; his stepmother Bette Gharing; his sister Mary Noel; and his sister-in-law Harriet "Cricket" Gharing.

He is survived by: his daughters, Christina Lambert (Barry) of State College, Constance Klimchock of Greensburg and Cathleen Gharing of Tampa, FL.; his grandchildren, Madison, Zachary Lambert of State College, Katherine and Emily Klimchock; and his brothers, Wade Gharing of Latrobe and Mark Noel of Derry.
