He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Lute and Della Lute (Reinoehl); his former wife Mary Jane Schrope Lute; and his siblings, Grace Bechtel and William Lute.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Lute (Zeigenfuse); his sons, Dann Lute (Beth) and John Lute (Sandy) of Nicholls, N. Y.; his sister Rose Varndell; and his stepsons, William (Heather Hurst) and David (Kelly Hurst).
