He was predeceased by : his parents, Stewart Esser, Sr. and Florence T. Esser; his children, Jerry Esser, Jr. (Jocko) and Karen Esser; and his brothers, Eddie Esser, Stewart Esser and Leonard Esser.

He is survived by : his wife Marvine A. Esser; and his sisters, Judy Conrad, Karen Wheeler and Pearl Sauders. He is also survived by 8 Children; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
