Carpenter; his stepchildren, Renee Hosmer, Emily Smith and Caitlyn Rummell; his grandchildren, Janiyah, Jakirah, Sariyah, Chase, Aria, Lincoln, Aiden, Elijah, Everly, Azriel, Adrian, Archer and Amari Michael; his sisters, Deb Godfrey, Sherry Troain, Karen Whitman and Amy Newmaster; and his aunt Jean Dishong. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
