She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Haak (Dick); her parents, J. Albert Buser and Catharine Harpel Buser; and her sister Louise Boger Harris. She is survived by: her children, Libby Krochalis (Rick) of Seattle, Rip Haak (Nancy Weyer) of Cape Cod and John Haak (Beth) of Philadelphia; and her grandchildren, Sallie, Joanne, Andy, Emma, John, Catharine and Laura. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

“Dear Libby, Rip and John-- I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved mother. To my brother, Chip and me, she was our "Aunt San"-- so full of vitality and wit. We had some fun times as kids playing in the woods behind your home--always under her watchful eye. She was also one of the caring neighbors of Highland Park when our mother was suffering from terminal cancer. San will be much missed by you all, her many grandchildren and countless friends.
