He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Lee Mears (Gwendlyn Hunter Mears) and Scott; and his siblings, Preston Lee Mears, Jr. and Judy M. Hartbarger. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lee; his sons, Stephen Lee Mears, Mark Lee Mears (Heidi) and Matthew Lee Mears (Beth); his grandchildren, Makaila, Nathanael, Jonathan, Joshua, Benjamin and Isaiah; and his sister Connie Marie Robinette.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Hollies Baptist Church Cemetery (17691 Hollies Church Rd, Keller, VA 23401).
