He was predeceased by: his wife Antonia Mengel (Garcia); his parents, Edwin H. Mengel, Sr. and Dorothy (Ritz); and his siblings, William P. Mengel, Edwin H. Mengel, Jr. and Anna May Eisenbrown.
He is survived by: his children, Robert C. Mengel, Jr. (Janeen), Timothy C. Mengel (Cheryl) and Christina M. Mengel; his close friend Russell Boyer; and his sisters, Doris L. Moyer and Carol Ann Bashore. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
