He was predeceased by: his parents, George Scherer and Barbara Nausley Scherer; and his siblings, Kathy Berkosky, Jane Watkins, Charles, George, Bruce and James Scherer.
He is survived by: his wife Alene L. Pooth Scherer; his children, Tabetha (Cameron Miller) of Pottstown and Michael Scherer of Lebanon; his grandchildren, Lexanne Miller, Jasmine Miller and Eric Scherer; his siblings, Maribeth DePaolo of Taylor and Dennis Scherer of Bartlett, TN; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Watkins of Scranton, Stanley Berkosky of Taylor, Stephanie Gawel of Friedensburg and Jackie Walsh of Clarks Summit. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Snyder Funeral Home (139 S Tulpehocken St, Pine Grove, PA 17963). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc. (139 S Tulpehocken St, Pine Grove, PA 17963).
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to either the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, 18 Wertz Dr., Pine Grove, PA 17963 or the Pine Grove VFW, 140 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, PA 17963 in his memory.
