He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustav Glaessmann and Mathilda Glaessmann (Fleming); and his siblings, Gustav, Adolf, Henry, Edward and Olga Rode.

He is survived by: his wife Ingeburg Glaessmann; his daughters, Renate Elizabeth Glaessmann, Heidi Anita Rex (L. White Matthews, III) and Helga Susan Glaessmann; his grandson Hunter Frederick Rex; his great grandchildren, Parker Elizabeth Gatens and Callaghan Charles Gatens; his siblings, Martha Wirth and Daniel; and his cousin Elfriede Ulrich.
