He was predeceased by : his parents, Ivo Brenneman and Elsie Webber Brenneman; his wife Margaret "Peg" Weatherholtz Brenneman; and his sisters, Lois Dertzler and Lorraine White.

He is survived by : his daughter Gayle (W. Joseph Weidner); his grandson David Weidner; his siblings, Lamar (Sandy Brenneman) and Leona (late Harold Rineer); and his brother-in-law Donald Dertzler.
