He was predeceased by: his parents, Elam Grumbein and Anna Rhen Grumbein; and his siblings, Dorothy Miller and E. Lloyd Grumbein. He is survived by: his daughters, Cynthia A. Coble of Brattleboro, VT and Jennifer K. Bixler (Roger); his grandchildren, Kiah (Ryan), Henry (Mind), Jack and Megan; and his great grandchild Fen.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Leola, or Masonic Village Hospice.
