He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Hankerson and Gladys Hankerson (Thomas); and his siblings, Gladys, Mary, Alfred Jr., Evelyn and Lilian.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hankerson (Coriell Girgenti); his brother Donald (Val); and his children, Stephanie, Thomas Hurling Jr. "TJ" (Takeya) and Hakim (Tonya).
