She was predeceased by: her parents, Howell Jenkins and Irene Jenkins; her son Ladison Byars Jr.; her sisters, Sandra and Jane; and her grandchildren, Samantha and Thomas.
She is survived by: her husband Ladison "John" Byars; her children, Joel (Mary), Cynthia (David), Joan (Brad), Vanya (Thomas) and Wendy; her grandchildren, Matthew (Roseanne), Jessica (James), Racheal (Ryan), Ray (Deanna), Jack, Bradley (Chrystal), Jason (Cady), Vanya (Gregory), Allison (Matthew) and Ashley (Thomas); her great grandchildren, Kyleigh, Ethan, Leilani, Savannah, Amelie, Isaac, Oliver, Randall Jr., Rian, Nathan, Lucas, Damien, Neveah, Lillian, Brantley, Reilly and Darian; and her siblings, Margaret, Irene, Patricia and Thomas. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or Penn Medicine.
