Doris E. (Haines) Stevens Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris E. (Haines) Stevens (Lewisberry, Pennsylvania), born in Petersburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 19, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband George R. Stevens; her parents, Frank S. Haines and Leora H. Haines (Leaper); her daughter Kathryn L. Leder; and her sisters, Betty Shepp and Marjorie Fowler.

She is survived by: her daughter Rebecca Myers (Steven); her grandchildren, Rose Maksin (Mike) and Matthew Leder (Valery Notaro); and her stepgrandchildren, Kelly McMillan (Jarrid) and Todd Myers (Abby). She is also survived by Nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; her nieces, and a nephew.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the York County SPCA, 3159 N Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.

“I spent time with miss doris till covid. I was diagnosed with narcolepsy & was going to have to stop driving her but I thought I would at least get to visit a few more years. She was the strongest person I ever met in will mind body & spirit. I last spoke with her around the time of her passing. She told me that she was not doing to well but she liked her new place I hoped to visit after they were allowed again. I love you now & always. Elizabeth & chewie PS your wish was granted”
