He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Barner; his parents, Melvin J. Barner and Arlene Barner (Swartz); his siblings, Ron, Lester and Vonnie Barner; and his grandson Michael Barner.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Barner (Wendy), Amy Balmer and Angela Ecsh; his grandchildren, Andrew Barner, Nina Kirk and Victoria Skinner; his sisters, Blanche Riden and Maxine Zook; and his pet Mitzy. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
