She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy E. Koontz and Gladys C. Koontz (Flynn); her grandchildren, Ella and Dylan Follmer; and her brother Donald Koontz.

She is survived by: her children, Kevin S. Stout (Robyn E. Miller) and Lori A. Follmer (Gary Scheidecker) of Lewistown; her brother John Koontz (Julia) of Carlisle; her grandchildren, Wendy Cherry (Dustin), Adam Stout, Nathan Follmer (Carley Lavelle), Nicholas Follmer (Mackenzie) and Owen Follmer; and her great grandchildren, Blake, Hannah, Cade, Noah, Abigail, Griffin, Everett, Hudson, Beckett, Lennon and Jude.

Memorial contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
