With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert E. Shaffer of Ligonier, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 16, 2024 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Edward Shaffer and Hazel Elizabeth Shaffer (Campbell); his brother Fred Milton Shaffer; his sister-in-law Francis Shaffer (Hauger); his grandson Emmett Richard Lackey (Richie); and his son-in-law David Lee Sell.

He is survived by : his children, Lois J (Daniel H. Moore III), James Robert Shaffer (Angelina Shaffer) and Thomas William Shaffer of Pittsburgh, PA; his grandsons, Steven (Rebecca Shaffer) of Colorado Springs, CO, Michael Shaffer of Ashburn, VA and Scott Shaffer; his great grandchildren, Colton, William and Benjamin Shaffer of Colorado Springs, CO; his niece Joan Shaffer (Al Nakanishi) of St. Louis, MO; and his nephew Greg Shaffer (Judy Huddleston) of Chandler, AZ.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home (144 E Main St, Ligonier, PA 15658). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Pioneer Presbyterian Church (240 W Main St, Ligonier, PA 15658).
