He was predeceased by : his parents, John Kent and Catherine Kent; his wife Marie Kelso Kent; and his siblings, William Kent, Joseph Kent, Harry Kent, Robert Kent, John Kent, Catherine Machemer and Betty Collins.

He is survived by : his pet Maggie. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
