He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Thomas and Constance Carlton (Sautter); and his brother Robert T. Carlton, II. He is survived by: his wife Julia P. Carlton; his daughters, Meghan Phillips (Ian) and Katherine Carlton (Brian Blank); his grandchildren, Walter and Wendy Phillips; his sisters, Marianne Carlton and Dorothy Carlton-Herity (Bryan); and his nieces and nephews, Ryan, Bobby III, David, Mary, Jimmi, Brian, Connor and Christopher. He is also survived by seven brothers-in-law.
