We announce the death of Lary R. McCowan of Lititz, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 16, 2026, at the age of 83. Lary will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Lary will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Lary will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Lary’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert T McCowan and Anna Mary McNeal McCowan; and his sister Barbara Ahern. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Kegel McCowan; his children, Michael McCowan (Lynn), Deborah McCowan (Jeff) and Mark McCowan (Jenni); and his sisters, Joan Weaver and Patricia. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Buch Funeral Home (216 S Broad St, Lititz, PA 17543). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
