He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles, Sr. Gartrell and Clara Gartrell (Barlow); his children, Brenda Sue Gartrell and Michael Lee Gartrell; and his brother Richard Lee Gartrell.
He is survived by : his wife Carolyn Gartrell (Godman); his daughters, Beverly Umbrell (Steve), Bonnie Gartrell-Ney (Michael), Robin Whiteman (Steve) and Dawn Gartrell (Jody Shaffer); his stepchildren, Stewart Charles Sheridan of Union Bridge, Sherri Sheridan Naill of Union Bridge and Mark of Union Bridge; his siblings, Patrick Gartrell of Hanover, Kitty Lippy of Hanover, Vera Brown of Hanover, Dale Moore of Haines City, FL and Deborah Frock of Hanover; and his former life partner Jean Gartrell (Mundorff) of Hanover.
