He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward B. McKinney and Nellie I. McKinney (Cunningham); his former life partner Shirley of Parkinson's Support Group; his son Steven E. McKinney; and his siblings, Raymond E., William H., Donald J. McKinney and Dorothy H. Skidmore.

He is survived by : his wife O'Nile Bean McKinney; his son Mark A. McKinney (Lisa) of Littlestown, PA; his grandson Bryce McKinney (Bonnie); his great grandchild Mara of Catonsville, MD; his granddaughter Lana Manning (Kyle); his great grandchildren, Aaron, Caleb, Zachary, Lorelai of Marriottsville, MD, Cameron McKinney (Jenny) of Frederick, MD and Philip McKinney (Elizabeth); his daughter-in-law Kimberly McKinney; his grandson-in-law Corey Shelton; and also, Thomas, Joseph of Manchester, MD, Bentley, Hayden and Charlotte. He is also survived by his sons and grandchildren.

“Ken was always known for his desire to do his best in all that he did. He seemed to really enjoy the music during his college years. His poetry that he shared was always heartfelt. He was proud of his relationship with Jesus and it showed so truly with his words. He lived what he "preached". God Bless Ken. Bill Preston FSC '59”
