He was predeceased by: his father Donald Zechman; his son Paul Zechman; and his grandson Dillon. He is survived by: his wife Janet L. Zechman (Moser); his mother Ruth Ann Zechman (Yorty) of Westminster, MD; his children, Dan Zechman (Connie) of York, PA and Kristy Roop (Jesse); his siblings, Cindy Hatfield (David) of New Oxford, PA, Cathy Zechman (Tom Gettys) of York, PA and Mike Zechman (Blythe) of Westminster, MD; and his grandchildren, Cameron, Liz and Ian.
