He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles William and Kathleen Ann Rote (Gallagher). He is survived by: his wife Helen "Jean" Rote (Erdley); his daughters, Theresa Davis (Scott) and Jacqueline Bartlett (late Christopher); his grandchildren, Rheannon Shelow (Tyler), Jillian Davis and Colby Bartlett (Bria); and his pet Cooper. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc. (231 High St, Lock Haven, PA 17745). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (310 W Water St, Lock Haven, PA 17745). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Swissdale Cemetery (836 Croak Hollow Rd, Lock Haven, PA 17745).

Those wishing to honor Bud's memory may make a memorial contribution to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriners Children's, or the Clinton County SPCA through the funeral home.
