She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Newberry and Gladys Perry Newberry; her husband Richard Merrifield, Sr.; and her sons, Danny Merrifield and Richard Merrifield, Jr..
She is survived by: her daughter Myra Spangler of Lock Haven; her sister Beverly Grassmier; her grandchildren, Amy Friedman (Bob), Dave Bechdel (Shannon), Rick Merrifield (Mike), Krista Hoover (Eric), Lacy Wahlers (Bob), Brian Merrifield, Robert Parks and Danny Merrifield; her great grandchildren, Danielle, Wayne, Alaina, Brooke, Brenden, Logan, Georgia, Trapper, Aspen, Jacob, River and Taylor; and her great great grandchildren, Cadence, Kori, Asher, Maverick, Rowen, Richie and Teddy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Doris' name may be made to the Salvation Army through the funeral home.
