With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Margaret E. Shirey in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 3, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Margaret leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Margaret may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert, Sr. Bowery and Maryetta Bowery (Passmore); and her brother Robert Bowery. She is survived by: her husband Richard L. "Dick" Shirey; and her sons, Blair Smeal of Philipsburg, PA, Gene Smeal (Sherrie) of Kerrmore, PA and Lawrence "Pete" Smeal of Loganton. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and on Sunday, December 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Chidboy Funeral Home (300 State St, Curwensville, PA 16833).
