He was predeceased by: his parents, Ann Smith (Peltin) and Samuel "Smitty" Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Elliot Goldberg and Judith Smith. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Smith (Goldberg); his children, Steven Todd Smith and Allison Lee Smith; his son-in-law Samuel Matthew Rankin; his grandson Samuel "Sammy" Elliot Rankin; and his brother Stanley "Sandy" Smith. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, great-nieces, and cousins.
