He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Nick and Harriet Nick (Tingley); his sisters, Mary Jane Nick and Frances Roxberry; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Nick, Richard Roxberry and Michael Loll.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Gatesman; his children, Stephanie McElhinny of Durham, NC, Rebecca Nick-Dart of Waterford and Leonard of Mountlake Terrace, WA; his sons-in-law, Chuck McElhinny and Eric Dart; his grandchildren, Ewan Dart, Declan Dart and Caroline McElhinny; and his siblings, Ronald Nick, Elaine Fesenmyer (Tom), Jean Dale (Terry) and Carol Loll. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Church (112 Rectory Ln, Lucinda, PA 16235). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph Cemetery (112 Rectory Ln, Lucinda, PA 16235).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice, or the Clarion Forest VNA Hospice, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion, PA 16214.
