He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Tarreto and Jennie Blaschak Tarreto; his wife Mary Ann Chalker Tarreto; his siblings, Nevin, Samuel, Albert, Joseph, Leonard and Verna; and his granddaughter Tara.

He is survived by: his children, John, Jr. Virginia (Rena), William Luzerne (Elaine), Debra Shavertown, Nancy Luzerne (Thomas), Jacqueline (Raymond), Ashley and Sandra Dallas (Elmer); and his sister Sally of Fairless Hills, PA.. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren 11 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
