He was predeceased by: his spouse Minna E. Hontz (Heine); his parents, Eugene W. Hontz and Selma L. Hontz (Peschel); and his siblings, Lewis, Marion Benninger, Edna Pagel and Lois Beineman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
