He was predeceased by: his parents, John O. Snavely and Laura Good Snavely; his grandchildren, Matthew Bowerman and Lindsey Horst; and his siblings, Elam Snavely and Frances Snavely.

He is survived by: his children, Dolores E. "Dolly" (Dennis J. "Denny"), Bowerman, Douglas R. (Deborah Hoffer Snavely), Dennis J. (Beverly A. Nauman) and Debbie J. (Larry Horst) of Denver, PA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
