He was predeceased by : his wife Janet Schiavone (Gundy); his half-brothers, Ralph and Joseph Schiavone; and his parents, Assunta Schiavone (Baldelli) and Carmine Schiavone.

He is survived by : his sons, Joseph (Marcy), Michael (Mary), James, Kenneth, Ralph (Roxanne) and Robert (Denise); and his grandchildren, Melissa, Megan, Matthew, Ashley, Justin, James, Anthony, Ryan and Taylor. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Joe's honor.
