Beth A. Cates Obituary

We bid farewell to Beth A. Cates of Martinsburg, Pennsylvania, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 15, 2025 at the age of 70. Beth touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert L. Whitfield and Charlotte M. Whitfield (Fletcher); and her husband Charles J. Cates. She is survived by: her daughters, Stephanie L. Gonzalez (Joseph) of Virginia Beach, Michelle L. Carr (John) of Chicago, Rebecca S. Van Dyke (Timothy) of Philadelphia and Erica M. Cates (Charles Peterman) of Chicago; her grandchildren, Nadia Olvitt, Jaidon Mullen, Justyse, Asher Gonzalez, Katelyn, Laura, Danielle, Christopher Carr, JJ, Tyson Van Dyke and Charlie Jo Cates-Peterman; and her brother William R. Whitfield of Bedford.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. (719 N 4th Ave, Altoona, PA 16601). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
