He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard A. Dilling and Dorothy M. Dilling (Fisher); his wife Lucretia Marie Lamb; his son Edward Hale; and his brother Kenneth W. "Punkin" Dilling.
He is survived by: his children, Terri Emmons, Tamara Wagner, Laurie Gelwicks, Linda Sell of Roaring Spring, Sherry Dilling of Martinsburg, Amy Dilling of Philadelphia, Jamie Hale and Michael Dilling of Martinsburg; his grandchildren, Garrett Long, Elizabeth Fincher, Blair Wagner, Nicole Emmons, Sheena Mickel, Carl Sell, Jacob Reynolds and Luanna Ryan; his sister Joyce A. Foor (Delmar); and his close friend Marjorie Brumbaugh of Roaring Spring. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home to defray expenses.
