He was predeceased by: his parents, R. E. Long and Ella Long (Grove); his spouse Shirley Jean Long (Detwiler); and his brothers, Ken Long, Fred Long, Earl Long and Harold Long.
He is survived by: his children, David R. Long (Patty) of Richmond, VA, Timothy S. Long (Juanita) of New Enterprise and Paula Lee Weber (Sam) of Rowlett, TX; and his grandchildren, Zachary Long, Tyler Long, Andrew Long, Scott Long, Jennifer McCoy, Rachel Weber and Eric Weber. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
