Sara Cecelia Lyons Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 1, 2025, at the age of 101, Sara Cecelia Lyons of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Catherine Ann Green (Boyd) and Carl Green; her sister Ida; her daughter Nancy Brindle (Tom); and her siblings, Harry, Katherine, Carl, Asberry, William, Thomas, Norman, Frances, Dorothy, Robert and Emily Green.
She is survived by: her husband John "Red" Lyons; her sons, John K. Lyons and Rev. Msgr; and her grandchildren, Amy, Gil, Jennifer, Jamie, Michael and Lauren. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home (941 McCoy Rd, McKees Rocks, PA 15136). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Malachy Catholic Church (343 Forest Grove Rd, Coraopolis, PA 15108). A burial was held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery (100 Resurrection Rd, Coraopolis, PA 15108).
After caring for Red at home for over four years, while he endured Alzheimer's, she said her final good-bye to him in April, 2000.
