He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin J. Downes and Anna M. Gunning Downes; and his siblings, John G. "Jack" Downes, William Downes, Dennis Downes and Mary Ann McQuillen.
He is survived by: his cousin Patrick Shriane of Port Vue, PA. He is also survived by many other cousins; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
