He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelus Valentijn and Christina Valentijn (Niewenhuizen); his spouse Lynn Valentyn (Koltiska); and his siblings, John Valentyn and Trudy DeCarolis.
He is survived by: his children, William P. Valentyn, Jr. and Jennifer Gorscak; his grandchildren, Paige Gorscak and Sydney Gorscak; and his siblings, Alida Yoezle of Osprey, FL, Tineke Pitoniak of Sarasota, FL, Cor Valentyn of Mentor, OH and Mary Ann Jones of Bradenton, FL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
