He was predeceased by : his parents, Helen McGonigle and James McGonigle; his son James J. McGonigle; and his siblings, Jean Scarantino (Patricia Patton), Robert McGonigle and James McGonigle.

He is survived by : his wife Diana Fisher McGonigle; and his daughters, Denise Dobkin, Elizabeth Lanzy and Kathleen Dubois Bradley (Ed). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
